I couldn't get this card during the lightning deal a couple of days ago, but it turned out that a local B&M store was selling it for slightly less, so I picked it up there. I bought this card for about 10% above the market price for a decent microSD card of the same size, and the rating takes that price into account. At $30 (the Amazon price as I'm writing this) I'd rate it 4 stars.



It comes with a SD adapter and no plastic clamshell case. It has a 1 year limited warranty (only the memory card is covered, not your equipment or data - pretty standard). The microSD says "Made in Taiwan" but the packaging says "Made in China". Card comes formatted in FAT32 and doesn't contain anything - a URL is given on the packaging if you want to download x-Pict Story slideshow creator or File Rescue.



I tested this card using a Transcend USB 3.0 Super Speed Multi-Card Reader for SD/SDHC/SDXC/MS/CF Cards (TS-RDF8K). The Transcend reader has a slot for microSD so I used that. I used h2testw which writes a series of large files with pseudo-random data, testing speed and data integrity at the same time.



Write speed is quite decent at 18.2 MB/s. Read speed, as advertised, is 40.7 MB/s. No errors were encountered.



This card tested significantly faster than my SanDisk Ultra MicroSD 32GB. I will be using this in my GoPro Hero3 Black and I don't expect any issues (I will definitely update this review if I encounter any). Note that to take full advantage of the read speed, you'll want to remove the card from whatever device you're using it in and read it with a USB 3.0 or Firewire 800 card reader.



Edit to add : I had no issues using this in my Hero 3 Black Edition. I tested at 720p 120 fps with ProTune enabled, which seems to be the setting that gives trouble with some memory cards. I've also tested 1080p-60 without problem.
