Otterbox Preserver Series Case iPhone 5/5S - Retail Packaging - Carbon (Black/Slate Grey)
CUSTOMER REVIEW
Read reviews for hours. Otterbox Preserver, Lifeproof Fre, Lifeprood Nuud, Atlas ID, Griffin Survivor + Catalyst and more. Checked out as many as I could in person via friends and family that had different types. Some Lifeproof Fre cases had screen protectors that had become wavy/wrinkled. Lifeproof Nuud required one of those stick-on screen protectors. Atlas ID had issues with touchscreen at bottom/around edges and Touch ID was a bit unreliable. I wanted to try an Otterbox Preserver in person but must be fairly new and no one I knew had one. Since I had positive experiences with Otterbox in the past, I rolled the dice and bought a Preserver for my iPhone 5s. Since Otterbox bought Lifeproof, it appears that they took the good from the Lifeproof Fre and the good from the Defender and put them together to make the Preserver. The Touch ID for my fingerprint has been working almost flawlessly, even better than when I had no case on my phone. I think this is because the case kind of forces you to position your finger like the iPhone wants it. The mute or silence switch does not turn on/off easily... BUT I LIKE THAT and consider it a "feature" :-) because the switch will not accidentally toggle in my pocket. The only thing I'd like to see is a waterproof phone that you don't have to pull plugs out of to use headphones/chargers... but then I guess that would take away the waterproof feature that I need :-). Maybe, like another manufacturer has done, Apple will come out with a waterproof iPhone, then that desire would be addressed :-) Hope this has been helpful... I REALLY LIKE THIS CASE! All the best to you and yours.
